A Volunteer Chaplain is a Carrier of the tangible Presence of God. Being a Chaplain is not just being a pastor, or a priest or some religious leader, but a servant to all people, no matter what your faith might be. A Chaplain must have a desire to be like Jesus.
We must mature and learn by the Holy Spirit to live and love like Jesus, and sacrifice our wills to serve others like Jesus did. A real Chaplain has to have a volunteers heart. A real Chaplain makes themselves a willing bond slave to the heart and will of God and your heart is in pain with suffering humanity.
Do you feel called to become a Chaplain? It has to be a calling. It's not just some job or title. It has to be a work and labor of love that comes from your heart that makes you want to sacrifice your-self everyday for others so that they may see Jesus in your actions, hear Jesus in your speech and feel Jesus presence when they are around you.
I welcome you to a Brotherhood of Volunteer Chaplains and Volunteers. But joining us as a member cannot be just an idle act to just belong to a brotherhood of volunteer chaplains. If you cannot perform deeds of kindness and acts of love day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year until you leave this world then you don't belong here and I'm sorry but you do not qualify as a member.
Jesus said it best, "He that forsakes not all cannot be my disciple."
And if you are really born again, blood bought, redeemed, born of the Holy Spirit, then you are no longer your own. Then you should no longer seek to live for your self, but for others, because that is the way Jesus lived and He will live the same life in you and me if we will lay our wills down to him daily and obey His Spirit that now lives within us.
